Conservation Based Affordable Housing - October 26, 2009

An informational and interactive workshop on creating Conservation Based Affordable Housing and is offered free of charge through a grant from the Clean Water Management Trust Fund. David Maurer will be a guest panelist speaking about architecture, construction techniques, and energy efficiency. The workshop is designed to inform attendees about the process, challenges, design features, and structure of Conservation Based Affordable Housing (CBAH) developments. Panelists will share their experiences developing, coordinating, and designing CBAH projects. David Maurer part of discussion panel at Conservation-Based Design in Affordable Housing and Commercial Corridor Development Workshop.
Internationally recognized landscape planner, Randall Arendt and Urban Wildlife Biologist, Jacquelyn Wallace will be the event speakers. Panel discussions will include representatives from various development and conservation fields. David Maurer will contribute unique insight as the only panel architect.
The workshop website explains: “Conservation-based approaches to commercial and residential development can meet the seemingly competing demands of communities, developers, homeowners and protection of open space. These workshops will demonstrate collaborative approaches to protecting quality of life, water quality, green space and economic interests through innovative development approaches.”
