TightLines and Students

On Saturday, March 19th, David Maurer was invited to make a presentation about TightLines’ work and be a guest reviewer at the USGBC Emerging Professionals North Carolina Sustainable Building Design Competition workshop, in Raleigh, NC.  The N.C. Sustainable Building Design Competition [NCSBDC] began in 2000 as a way to engage students in universities, colleges and community colleges to learn and apply the lessons of sustainable design and construction. Each year statewide winners see their design built as part of the grand prize. The program is currently administered by the NC Solar Center's High Performance Buildings Team and began as a collaboration with the Triangle Emerging Green Builder Natural Talent Design Competition in 2006. Students from East Carolina University, Wake Technical Community College, and North Carolina State University participated in the workshop, each having their proposed submissions looked over by the rotating panel of reviewers and given critical feedback on their designs.
