During the second and third weeks in August, North Carolina Housing Finance Agency (NCHFA) offered half day workshop and feedback sessions for current and prospective Self-Help Loan Pool (SHLP) members. At the sessions, Habitat for Humanity affiliates across North Carolina learned about the SHLP process and documentation updates, as well as resources available to help address the issue of foreclosure.

In addition to NCHFA updates, representatives from TightLines Designs and Advanced Energy provided industry updates.  David Treleven with Advanced Energy discussed the new NC Energy Code and ENERGY STAR 3.0 program.  TightLines Designs President David Maurer presented information on the importance of using good design when planning and building a community.  Maurer discussed the significance of building homes with attractive and marketable elevations, planning for the efficient use of space, and considering how individual home designs fit within the context of the community-at-large
