After a two-year hiatus, the TightLines team was excited to attend the Housing Works 2022 conference in person! The conference spanned two days, and included an eye-opening keynote presentation by James H. Johnson Jr., PhD about the demographics of the US (in particular the southeast), numerous informative breakout sessions, & great networking. We were able to connect with some friends and clients we had not seen in person in several years, and meet new faces from around the country that are helping develop much-needed affordable housing all across our state. Thank you as always to Centrant Community Capital, the NC Housing Coalition, and the NC Housing Finance Agency for putting on another great conference!

A highlight of the conference is always the awards lunch where each year, several projects receive awards for their exceptional work. You can see a complete list here, but one project in particular was special to us this year. East College Park is an established neighborhood in east Raleigh. The City is in the process of helping create a mixed-income community in the area by facilitating the development of almost 150 single-family and townhome units with 60% buyer income-restricted homes and 40% homes with no buyer income restriction. While all the hard work credit goes to the City, the builders, and the qualifying home buyers, we are proud to have provided design services to two of the six builders – CB Pugh Enterprise & Carolina Cottage Company. If one were to drive down Pender St, N Carver St or N Fisher St, they will see our Madison II, Monique II & Haywood I designs – and one custom design on Maple St due to a rather tricky lot!
We are thankful to be a part of this important work in our Raleigh community, and wish all the best to the new homeowners! For more information about the East College Park community, please visit:
