In 2020, the TightLines team started collaborating with South Eastern North Carolina Community Development Corporation and the Rocky Mount Housing Authority to construct a new community through NCHFA‘s Supportive Housing Program. With the team, we developed a one-bedroom and three-bedroom design that was built for a total of eight new rental homes. In addition to being built to Advanced Energy’s SystemVision standards, the homes also include elements of aging-in-place and universal design such as removable cabinet bases below sinks for future roll-under space, blocking in the walls at toilets & bathing fixtures for future installation of grab bars, clear floor space at all appliances, turnaround spaces throughout most of the houses, and one fully accessible bathroom & bedroom.
