Originally built as a school around 1915 and later converted to 19 one-bedroom units, the Walnut Street School Apartments were in dire need of renovation by 2015. In partnership with the Housing Authority of the City of Goldsboro (HACG), TightLines Designs helped breathe new life into this historic building. The entire school underwent a full interior renovation consisting of refinishing the hardwood floors, repairing and repainting the existing plaster walls and trim, and installing new doors, cabinetry, appliances & fixtures. Resident amenities now include two laundry rooms, common lounge area, and a large community room with a shared kitchen, resource center, and gathering space with an existing performance stage that has been refinished.
